Jim Prosser. Founder and Principal
Jim has spent a career helping some of the most dynamic companies in the world build, grow, and protect their brands. His strategic thinking, strong media relationships, and ability to navigate complex communications challenges have made him a recognized leader in technology and financial communications.
Twitter: As head of corporate, revenue, and policy communications, he ran a global team that worked to advance the company's message alongside business expansion and corporate change, including the return of co-founder Jack Dorsey as CEO, the company’s growth into a billion-dollar advertising business, complex global legal and policy issues involving speech and data protection, as well as the company's heavily scrutinized 2013 initial public offering.
SoFi: As vice president of communications and public policy at SoFi, he helped the company scale to one of the largest and best-known consumer financial technology firms in the United States through creative consumer-facing campaigns, and also successfully navigated critical corporate and regulatory matters including a high-profile CEO transition and Federal Trade Commission dispute.
Google: As a manager for communications and public affairs at Google, he was responsible for a portfolio of corporate issues including legal, finance and treasury, and economic research, and was the public spokesperson for the company’s $6 billion patent and copyright lawsuit with Oracle. Prior to that, he managed product communications for AdWords and other related advertising products.
Paradigm: As head of communications for the crypto- and Web3-focused venture capital firm, he was responsible for the firm’s overall messaging, media engagement, editorial production and operations, and counseling of portfolio companies on an array of topics from strategic communications planning to crisis response.
Edelman: As managing director for the agency's corporate affairs practice in the Western United States, he oversaw teams across the West Coast and provided senior counsel to public and private company clients and their executives on corporate strategy, reputation, and crisis preparedness and response.
Jim has received numerous accolades from industry observers, including being named Business Insider's top communications professional in technology.
He started his career in politics and public affairs and as a communications lead for Direct Relief, a leading international medical aid non-governmental organization.
Jim holds a bachelor's degree in government from the University of Virginia.
